WORD AS DOCTRINE

He who abides in the doctrine 
has both the Father and the Son.

Doctrine is a particular principle, position, or policy taught or advocated, as of a religion or government. It is something that is taught; a body or system of teachings relating to a particular subject.

The word "Doctrine" originated in 1350-1400 as Middle English < Anglo-French < Latin doctrīna teaching, equivalent to doct (o) r doctor + -īna -ine2. It is synonimous to tenet, dogma, theory, precept, belief. (Dictionary.com)
